Meet the Winemaker

Robert Black has been making wines for Bunnamagoo since 2002.

He has a hand in every part of the winemaking process – from fruit selection all the way through to bottling. His ability to combine traditional wine-making skills with the most up-to-date equipment and methods combines to create  wines with softness and fullness, without drying tannin or excessive thickness. They are elegant, supple, and driven by Australian ripe fruit flavours. This philosophy results in wines that exhibit friendliness and approachability while retaining their individuality and character. They are made to be enjoyed with food and are therefore excellent table wines.

Paspaley

Paspaley is heavily involved in Australian agriculture.

Their holdings include a number of historically significant properties in New South Wales, including the Bunnamagoo Estate and the Bunnamagoo winery and cellardoor at Mudgee NSW.  As with pearling, Paspaley’s interest in artisanal winemaking is characterised by a quest for optimising efficiencies while never compromising quality.

The Vineyard

‘You need good fruit to make good wine” – Robert Black, Bunnamagoo Winemaker

The grapes destined for Bunnamagoo wines is grown at our two vineyards-  the historic Bunnamagoo Estate vineyard at high altitude Rockley NSW and the vineyard at Mudgee in the local area of Eurunderee. Bunnamagoo  truly provides a Bud to Bottle process, with every  decision being made by our own people.
